Wednesdays are my split day for lifting, so I always try to figure out a way to mix things up. I read way too many blogs in the morning, and I saw this workout the other day, so I really wanted to try it. I started with 50 minutes of running.
I had written it all down on a post-it. By the time I got in the weight room, I realized I wouldn't be doing many of the leg reps, due to yesterday's leg workout. Instead of the power cleans, I did bicep curls. Instead of the hop overs, I did hammer curls, and instead of the squat jumps, I did a 50 second plank. It was a great workout and I am already feeling the effects of the 50 reps of each.
Just don't do what I did and get so into the push presses that you slam the barbell into your nose and freak out that you broke it (my nose, not the barbell). Yeah. That happened. I swear a post on how horribly accident prone I am is on its way.
Any good workouts that you think I should try?
You can do my arm workouts ;) I'm posting more full body workouts tomorrow. I've been working on them! Your treadmills are fancy! I thought ours were updated but dang!
ReplyDeleteYou rock girl!
ReplyDeleteYou will find your groove soon enough! I look back on the days that I worked out, subbed, went to school, did homework (maybe even some wedding planning!), and worked. I don't know how I did it! Crazzzzy!!!! At least you only have one more semester left!!!!!
Finding the groove again after a schedule change (like the start of classes) always takes a little time. You'll have it down before you know it. As far as workouts go? I don't have any suggestions; I'm trying to get better at using pinterest to save workout ideas so on nights like tonight, when I need a running break, I have easy options of other things to do.
ReplyDeleteI love this "variations on 50" thing. I think I'd have to start low, with 25, and maybe do repeats, but I think this is really cool!
ReplyDeleteOmg that sounds painful!! I am always so afraid of having a weight mishap... I did something dumb at the gym once. I jumped up onto the assisted pull up machine and my legs BANGED into the front of the machine. It hurt soooo bad but I have course had to pretend there was nothing wrong as to not draw attention to myself!
ReplyDeleteOUCH! I always do the 'check for blood' move after a good nose bang. :S I hope you're okay. Your Tues/Thurs last term sound very exhausting!
ReplyDeleteYou know how we're always saying that we need to be in the same state so we can work out together? Maybe we should rethink that...our combined clumsiness might be too dangerous! :)
