Road Trip Days 2&3

The past two days have been a whirlwind. I honestly cannot believe tomorrow is Friday and my last weekend before starting my teaching summer school.

This whole trip has been about walking. We walked probably 9 miles yesterday in total and about 7 today. Yesterday, I spent a lot of time hanging out. I found Cal Poly.

was actually trying to use their gym because it is the most beautiful one I have ever seen. Apparently you have to have to have a student with you to use it, so I ended up at a gym across town.

My brother finally got off work, so we went to dinner.

Sushi is probably my favorite thing to eat on this planet.

Then we did some more walking, of course.

We found an Apple store where my brother decided to play with the new iPads.

Then it was dessert time! Of course.

Today started with an early morning hike.

It's about 4 miles round trip, but a 1,000 foot climb.

I'm pretty sure I almost killed my dad by forcing him up the mountain.

I also made a new friend.

My dad made it to the top. He's pretty amazing. Did I mention he's 67?!

After lunch with my brother, we made our way to the beach to see the ocean.

It's pretty ugly down here. I don't know how people can stand it.

I went to the gym again while my dad waited for the mattress delivery men.

Thursdays are Farmer's Market day. They do it up big. And the fruit looked amazing.

Of course, we couldn't pass up the whipped cream and strawberries. We all know how I feel about whipped cream.

Tomorrow is my last day here. It has gone by so quickly! It will be sad to say bye to the brother, but we will do tomorrow up right by watching fireworks. Just for our farewell! How kind of SLO!

What are your 4th plans?

  3. How rude of Cal Poly to make you be a student or with a student to use their gym. Selfish, really. :) Looks like a fantastic trip with some gorgeous views!
