Another Goodbye

If there is one thing that this teaching credential program has taught me, it's that it is essential to be okay with change. We have three 12-week placements during the year and tomorrow marks our last day at our second placement.

As much as I didn't think that I would like resource (my heart is with the Special Day Classes), I have found that I really, really do enjoy that atmosphere. I absolutely adore each and every one of the students who come in and I am going to miss them like crazy. It's nuts how attached you can get after just 12 weeks! One little girl left this for me today and my heart melted.

In other news, the weather has taken a sharp turn for the better. While it literally dumped almost 2 inches on us on Sunday, today it was almost 70 degrees. Of course this meant that I absolutely had to go run outside.

I was almost too hot during my run. I finished up inside as today is chest/tri day. Then I immediately came home and collapsed because this time change thing is killing me. Just another reason to add to my list of why I should move to Hawaii. This has been my very favorite song to pound it out to lately.

I have also been on the hunt for my matron of honor dress. We had dinner at my dad's on Sunday and I think I found it in my step mom's closet.

I think the shoes really pull everything together nicely. I texted this picture to the bride and, unfortunately, she wants us in knee length dresses. Darn it! ;-)

How has the time change been for you?

  1. I did not think the time change would affect me at all, but I'm constantly amazed at how 'late it is' when I check my watch. I'm also quite tired, but for reasons like staying up late as well, lol.

    1. I am having trouble with how late it is when I check the time as well. Today it was still light at 7:30 while I was eating dinner. It doesn't usually trip me out like this. It's been a weird week.

  2. I busted out laughing at the dress! The shoes totally make it!
One of the hardest things was to leave my first placement for my second placement. I cried like a baby and I was miserable the first week at my new placement. Then I fell in love. I absolutely adored those 4th graders and it literally hurt my heart to leave. I wish I was their teacher for the whole year. I loved them so much, they were such an awesome class!
I really love the resource room! It is a great tool for students!
I hope you have a great rest of your week in your placement!!! I really wish NYS did 3 12 week placements, that would have been amazing to experience so many different classrooms!!!

    1. Unfortunately, Crocks are already our shoe of choice for the wedding, so I can't wear my slippers. ;-) We actually walked by a Crock outlet when we were in Oregon and my friend took a picture and sent it to her fiance asking if we could have them as our shoes. Ever since then, I've been telling her that I actually am going to wear Crocks.

  3. That dress is saucy. :) I hope you love the next placement just as much as this one. I definitely can understand getting quickly attached to the kids. I have a lot of my kids for 3-4 years, some more than once a day, so I get realyl attached by the time they graduate!

    1. I actually observed in my new placement on Monday and I can already tell I am going to love it. It's also a resource room with middle schoolers. I can't even imagine how hard the goodbyes must be at graduation. I've always said I don't think I would enjoy teaching high school, but I really think I would love it now.

  4. 70 degrees, that sounds like heaven! I can't wait until the weather is that nice here. In the meantime, I'll take our mid 50 days when we have them. I'm dreading racing in (most likely) the rain this weekend though.
