A Whole New World

Yesterday I began my new student teaching placement. I have moved from a moderate to severely disabled classroom (for six years) to a resource room, where the disabilities are mild to moderate. I actually love it. The students are sweet and my mentor teachers are so nice.

However, I didn't leave my placement until 3:45, which meant I didn't even start my workout until 4:15ish. That is when I am usually done. It was the first time in a very long time that I almost skipped the gym. I have a slight cold, I was incredibly tired, and my lady friends want to hang out. I sucked it up and went.

I immediately felt better. I headed to the weight room to do my shoulder routine and I actually completely forgot how miserable I was before I entered the gym.

I finished it up with another mile run and headed to my friend's house in a much better frame of mind.

It's amazing what we can do when we out our minds to it. Getting started is, honestly, the hardest part.

  2. I'm glad you love your new placement!! It's the best when you don't want to work out and by the time you're 10 minutes into it, you're just SO glad you decided to do it!

  3. I will remind myself of this post tomorrow, when it's under 10 degrees out and I want to skip the gym and snuggle up in my warm pjs. :) Thanks for the reminder that we always feel better after the workout!

  4. I think stopping your workout is the thing you have the most trouble with.
