Sibling Day

I've heard somewhere that it's National Sibling Day.  I am far too lazy to Google this (I mean, type it in and do research??) and find out if it's actually true, but it's a good excuse to give a shout out to the best people I know.  I am so lucky to have so many fabulous siblings.

My oldest sister.  She's 10 years older than me and lives about 900 miles away in San Diego, but she's amazing.  As I grow older, our relationship only gets better.

My step-sister.  My dad and her mom have been together since 1995.  My step-siblings ARE my sisters.  It doesn't matter that we don't have any of the same genetic material.  She's also my very best friend on the planet.  She makes an appearance on this blog often, as does her daughter.  We shared a room all through school and we never fought.  We always get told we look alike and are asked if we are twins quite often.  I don't understand this, but I kind of like it.  She's my rock.

My second step-sister.  We have the same name.  This totally confuses everyone we ever meet.  So, our parents just tell people that they really like the name Rachel.  She and I aren't as close as the above sister, but that's probably because she's younger.  She also lives in Arizona, so we don't see each other nearly as often.

My brother.  He is my favorite person.  He and I have always gotten along.  I can't even remember a time where we had a fight.  I love him to the end of the universe and back.  He makes me laugh when I don't think I'm able to laugh again.  He's unable to be serious about anything.  I couldn't have picked a better brother.  It's also illegal for us to take a serious picture together.

So there are my siblings.  Not a day goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars that I was born into one of the most amazing families in the entire world.  I am blessed beyond belief.

Do you have siblings?

    1. Thank you! Most of us are really close in age too. My older sister is just the outlier. ;-)

  2. Aw, that's nice! I have an older brother and younger sister. As we've gotten older, we get along a lot better. We're finally friends.

    1. I find that as we all get older, the closer we get with everyone too. We've always been close, but now that we're adults, it's easier to talk about things.

  3. Beautiful pics! How do you always look so great and tanned in your photos?!?!? :D I'm so pasty white right now, it's ridiculous. I have two sisters who are both younger. We don't really look that much alike, or at least I dont' see it anyway.

    1. Thank you! I will be honest. These are all old pictures from last year or a couple of years ago. I was blessed with very easy to tan skin, so I get extra dark in the summer. It's a blessing and a curse.
