I'm done?!

As of yesterday, I'm officially done with the coursework for my preliminary special education credential. It's been a long, tough, tiring year. It seems like just yesterday I was so scared to become a student again.

I have learned so much valuable information. I have expanded my horizons and fell in love with a population of students than I never thought I would. I spent hours stressing over papers, learning how to write the perfect IEP, pondering my career choice because of all of the laws.

I met the greatest people. I have made life-long friendships. I finally found people who are just like me. Beautiful, talented, hilarious, amazing women who are going to make a huge difference in the lives of the students they teach. They are my rocks and they got me through some very difficult moments.

I was blessed with three amazing mentor teachers. They taught me more than I could ever imagine. I will forever be indebted to them.

Now it's time to take the next step and apply for jobs. I can't wait to see what the future holds. But first, a big graduation party!

What is one of your biggest accomplishments?

  1. Congrats on being finished!!! That must be such a relief. I remember being totally scared when I finished my Education Degree.....it quickly disappeared but I can remember it like it was yesterday and it was actually 10 years ago! :0

  2. Congratulations! I know the teachers in my cohort will be my friends forever. We've been through so much together and bonded over the stress of school and teaching...no one will ever "get" you the way other teachers do!
